Picking up the phone recently I heard, “Well, you do answer the phone!” It turned out that was the reason the executive director of a non-profit in Philadelphia had called. Looking through various websites he saw the note on ours (vermontawards.com) that we have no menus and personally answer our phones. That ended up being a good order and a new relationship as well.
He was looking for what I think we do best, connecting with our customers as valued individuals. The lack of menus is important to us and it’s become our most obvious commitment to customer service. It puts our customers’ comfort ahead of the efficiency gains we could make asking them to press one for hours etc. That’s just the beginning though. We call customers to remind them of recurring event needs, we call when orders are complete – most important we call if we question grammar, spelling or layout of an order – it needs to be as good as it can be even when we could hide behind doing something exactly as written.
When customers have big events and are looking for something special within a budget we can spend lots of time going back and forth looking for and finding exactly the right piece. But that’s what makes our work fun and when you add that to the outstanding work our production people do – we think we can compete with any company in our industry. We hope you’ll try us and see!
Enough from me (the owner) here are comments from our Better Business Bureau profile where we have an A+ rating:
"We have used Vermont Trophy & Engraving for many years to create awards, plaques and trophies for our academic department at MIT. We have been completely delighted with their work and professionalism. Our scholarship award programs are quite complicated requiring Vermont Trophy & Engraving to annually create and ship plaques and name plates to ten universities in 9 different states across the US on a last minute schedule. We depend on them to hit these milestones flawlessly -- so the plaques show up at each venue just prior to each award ceremony. They have never missed a beat. Furthermore, when one of the wooden plaques warped over time, they replaced it immediately. We highly recommend this company. "

"Vermont Business Magazine has worked with Vermont Trophy and Engraving for over 25 years. They are the producers of all of our awards starting with the Best Places to Work. As we added more events and awards programs to our portfolio we knew there was no one better to work with than Vermont Trophy. They now produce awards for our Best Places to Work in Vermont, Deane C. Davis finalists, Rising Stars, Business Growth Awards and SBA Business awards. Each of these awards recognize from as few as 2 recipients up to 40 and growing. It is great to work with the staff at Vermont Trophy, they are very knowledgeable in this field and are always there to find new ways to recognize our awardees. They always bring great new ideas to the table. It is great to have a local firm that works so closely with their customers."

"I have gone to Vermont Trophy and Engraving since 1991. I am an educator and athletic director at a local school and I'm also in charge of graduation gifts and awards. The staff at Vermont Trophy and Engraving is always friendly, accommodating, personable and professional. They have a huge selection and can manage special requests and unique and specialty items. And, there is usually a cuddly Lab to greet you when you arrive. They are consistently on time with orders. I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else for trophies, awards, plaques, engraved frames, retirement gifts, memorial items, name plates, name tags...just to name a few of their products."
- Cinder Thrane, Burlington Schools
"I have worked with Vermont Trophy and Engraving on several projects and I've always been very satisfied with the work they do. They go above and beyond with their customer service which keeps me going back to them!"
