Lund Family Center announces new hires

Cat Cutillo has joined Lund Family Center as the Social Media and Marketing Coordinator. Cutillo brings seven years of experience working in media as a photojournalist, photo editor and writer. Her photography has been published in Budget Travel Magazine, Golf World Magazine, AOL, New York Press and others. In 2009, she expanded into videojournalism and producing short videos for the web.
“I am ecstatic to be a part of Lund Family Center’s incredible mission to strengthen children and families and to use my background in multimedia journalism to document and support this mission,” says Cutillo.
Cutillo holds a Master’s degree in Multimedia Communications from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she was awarded “Best Graduate Producer” by the Communications Department. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Tulane University in New Orleans. She was awarded a 2007 “Photographer of the Year” award by the New York Press Association for her photojournalism coverage of Queens, NY, for TimesLedger Newspapers.
She will be creating content for Lund Family Center’s social media, blog and newsletter, as well as coordinating many of their tech-heavy initiatives.
“This position couldn’t be a better match. In the time I’ve been here I’ve felt nothing short of inspired. Lund has an incredible team of people who are devoted to serving others and will stop at nothing to see their mission through,” says Cutillo.
Kathryn (Kath) Laing joined Lund Family Center in September as Grants Manager. Laing is an Australian citizen who has spent more than half her life growing up, living and working in Colombia. Most recently she was Grants Coordinator for an international agricultural research center based in Cali, Colombia. Her main tasks as Grants Coordinator were: 1) to work with Center management and scientists on annual center budget development and fundraising strategies, 2) to identify new sources of funding, jointly develop funding proposals and budgets with scientists, submitting them for funding to a wide-range of donors, 3) to oversee the contractual, administrative and financial execution of all approved grants, and 4) to establish and maintain beneficial relations with donor institutions. Kath has a BA in Psychology and History and a MA in International Relations from the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra, Australia. She and her family moved to Vermont two years ago seeking a lifestyle change, and now lives happily in Burlington with her husband, Doug, and their children, Sabrina (12), Jessie Jane (4) and Marley (18 months). Kath is excited to be back at work managing grants and is experiencing the value of Lund’s work first hand. While she works, her son Marley engages in Lund’s Five Star Early Childhood program. Kath says, “After taking a couple of years as a stay-at-home-mom, I am thrilled to be back at work, learning about a whole new industry and meeting the very dedicated Lund staff.”
With more than 120 years of experience strengthening families, Lund Family Center annually serves more than 5,000 children and family members. Lund’s work focuses on three goals: strengthening families, reducing child abuse and neglect, and helping to create new families through adoption. Its mission is to help children thrive by serving families with children, pregnant or parenting teens and young adults, and adoptive families.
