Community Bank NA is pleased to announce that Michael Breen has been promoted to team leader, commercial banking in South Burlington. In his new role, Breen will be responsible for leading a group of commercial bankers in the northern Vermont market. In addition, he will manage new business with present and prospective customers, as well as maintain current customer relationships.
“Michael has a long history with our company, and we are thrilled to recognize that hard work,” Community Bank NA Regional President Geoffrey Hesslink said. “With more than 20 years of experience in commercial banking, Michael is an expert in his field and a crucial part of our team in South Burlington.”
Breen began his career with Merchants Bank 37 years ago and joined Community Bank NA with its acquisition of Merchants earlier this year. Throughout his career, Breen as served a variety of roles, including retail lending manager, commercial loan review and commercial banker for 20 years.
Breen earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Rider University. Outside of the office, he is active in his community, serving as trustee for General Education Fund Inc. and member of the honorary board at Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden & Grand Isle Counties. Breen resides in Burlington with his wife, Maureen.
