Woodstock Inn & Resort welcomes new Director of Sales & Marketing

The Green Mountain State welcomes back hospitality veteran Courtney Lowe to its community, as he assumes the role of Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) for the venerable Woodstock Inn & Resort in Woodstock, VT. He was lured back to the state by the executive team of this 218-year old resort as it continues its $20 million revitalization that will culminate with the debut of the new Spa at Woodstock this fall.
Lowe is charged with harnessing all these enhancements to relaunch the Woodstock brand through integrated marketing, as he takes the helm of the resort’s advertising, PR, online presence, social media strategies, brand partnerships, and guest relationship programs. In addition, Lowe will direct the sales strategies for driving group and transient business, with a strong focus on leveraging the resort’s four-season appeal with world-class golf, skiing, spa, and more.
“The responsibility for safeguarding – and evolving – the reputation of this beautiful property was tailor-made for me,” said Lowe. “I am proud to be a part of the revitalization that marries the charm and history of the Rockefeller legacy with an experience that satisfies the desires of today’s most discriminating travelers.”
Woodstock President and General Manager Werner Graef is delighted to have Lowe at the resort, commenting that, “We hand picked Courtney for his extensive understanding of the mindset and buying behaviors of today’s travelers, especially those seeking New England luxury experiences.” Graef also notes that “Courtney’s expertise started impacting our sales from the moment he set foot in the door.”
A hospitality industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing, including 13 years at Equinox Resort & Spa, Manchester Village, VT, Lowe has worked with premier resorts throughout the east coast. Lowe most recently served as Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Benchmark Hospitality International, where he was responsible for the company’s 10 east coast properties. At Benchmark, he also served as the DOSM for the historic Bedford Springs Resort in central PA.
Prior to joining Benchmark, Lowe was with the historic Equinox Resort & Spa, first as DOSM and later as General Manager. The success of his tenure while at The Equinox is what gained Lowe such a widespread reputation throughout the state – and New England – as rising hospitality professional.
Additionally, Lowe has served as DOSM for the renowned Boar’s Head Inn & Resort in Charlottesville, VA, as well as regional sales executive for Corcoran Jennison Companies of Boston, responsible for the Ocean Edge Resort of Brewster, MA, Cranwell Resort in Lenox, MA and Hawk Inn & Mountain Resort of Plymouth, VT.
Lowe has served on the board of a number of professional organizations, including the Vermont Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Vermont Convention and Visitors Bureau, the New England Inns & Resorts Association and Hotel Sales & Marketing Association of Virginia. In his spare time, Lowe enjoys playing golf and hockey, skiing and spending time with his family.
