gbA Architecture & Planning adds two new team members

gbA Architecture & Planning (formerly known as Gossens Bachman Architects) is thrilled to announce the addition of two new team members, Steven Clark, AIA, and Charles Thaxter. Steve Clark was born and raised in Central Vermont. He grew up working for his father’s construction company, where he developed a strong interest in historic preservation and architecture. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the Syracuse University School of Architecture, and has worked for a number of firms throughout Vermont. Steve brings nearly 40 years of architectural experience to the studio and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), having served on the Board and the Communications Committee of the Vermont Chapter of AIA.

Charles, an Architectural Designer with gbA, believes that architecture has the strength to impact communities around the world and the ability to be a catalyst for positive change. Charles comes to gbA having earned his Master of Architecture at Norwich University, where he focused on creating environmentally sustainable buildings and communities through design. Prior to this, his passion for education and travel led him to Shanghai, China, where he worked as a museum exhibit designer, and then to New Zealand, where he studied building science and researched a range of topics from green roof thermal performance to achieving Net Zero Energy within the New Zealand Defence Force.

Everyone at gbA is very excited to welcome Steve and Charles to the team, and we know they share our dedication to creating unforgettable spaces that grip the imagination and contribute to the communities that house them.
