The Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (ASPR), an association of in-house physician recruitment professionals, has announced that Sarah Child, Manager of Physician Services, at University of Vermont Health Network, Central Vermont Medical Center has earned the FASPR credential. The ASPR Fellowship Certification consists of three Modules with corresponding exams leading to the certification as a Fellow of the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters. ASPR’s Fellowship program is the most comprehensive, authoritative resource for individuals seeking to develop and test their skills and knowledge within a broad spectrum of topics including physician/provider recruitment, onboarding and retention, human resources, and relevant legal issues.

Sarah has been employed at Central Vermont Medical Center since 2007 and has been central to the successful recruitment of many talented medical staff members over the past 10 years. She has been actively involved with Vermont’s Area Health Education Center (AHEC) as a board member from 2012-2015 and now works with their MedQuest Camp for high school students interested in healthcare. She is currently a board member for Freezing Fun for Families, a grassroots organization that works to alleviate financial hardship for Vermont families with a child battling cancer. She previously worked in allied health recruitment for The University of Vermont Medical Center. Prior to entering healthcare Sarah worked in undergraduate college admissions at Champlain College and Norwich University.

“I want to congratulate Sarah on her achievement as it demonstrates a commitment to personal professional development and excellence in the discipline of physician and advanced practice provider recruitment,” said Carey Goryl, the executive director of ASPR.
