Vermont Business Magazine Last week, representatives from Long Trail Brewing Company and Farrell Distributing visited the Vermont Foodbank to present a check for $12,285 to fight hunger in Vermont. During July and December 2016, Long Trail Brewing Company donated $1 for every case of Long Trail sold at Hannaford Supermarkets throughout New England.

"Long Trail Brewing is honored to partner with our good friends at Hannaford and Farrell Distributing to support the VT Foodbank,” said Jed Nelson, Marketing Director for Long Trail Brewing Company. “Most people have no idea that 1 in 4 Vermonters face food insecurity. The services that the Foodbank provides to our community are nothing short of amazing.  We are proud to help their efforts through this program.”

In Vermont, Farrell Distributing matched Long Trail's donation dollar for dollar. "I was just reflecting with David Farrell the other day about how proud we are of the programs our brand partners continue to run to support the Vermont Foodbank,” said Ryan Chaffin, Director of Marketing for Farrell Distributing.  “Our commitment to community is important to us here, and the Foodbank is top tier with the service they provide for our fellow citizens who need the help. Kudos to Long Trail for once again stepping up and supporting this important organization here in Vermont.”

"Hannaford is proud to partner with Farrell Distributing and Long Trail Brewery to help Vermonters who are at risk of going hungry," said Samara Bushey, Hannaford's Director of Operations in Vermont.  "The Vermont Foodbank is a vital resource for people across our state who are struggling financially and rely on local pantries and meals programs for the nutritious food they need.  Donations like this one make a real difference in the local community, through the Foodbank and its partner agencies.”

Since the inception of this promotion in 2013, this team has raised nearly $53,000 for the Vermont Foodbank.  "Farrell Distributing, the Long Trail Brewing Company and Hannaford Supermarkets are committed partners in the fight against hunger," said John Sayles, Vermont Foodbank CEO. "They set a remarkable example of how organizations in our community can work together to make Vermont a better place for all of our neighbors. This generous gift will go a long way toward ensuring that we can provide high quality, healthy food to those who need it most. We are truly grateful for this partnership.”
