Vermont Business Magazine Shelburne-based Bullrock Corporation has completed a 2.6 megawatt solar array in Westminster. The array consists of 7,500 panels and generates enough electricity to power over 300 homes. The site has been constructed on a former gravel pit. The electricity that’s generated by this solar field will be credited to the Vermont Army National Guard, who will be receiving the benefits from this project for at least 20 years.
“We are extremely excited about the Westminster project,” Bullrock CEO Gregg Beldock said. “This an excellent example of adaptive land use, taking land that was otherwise unusable and bringing it to life through the use of solar. In addition, we’re very proud to be working with the Vermont Army National Guard and helping them generate their own electricity, and thus reducing their overall costs. It’s a win for them and it’s a win for the environment”.
The Bullrock Corporation develops, constructs and finances solar projects in and around New England. The company is responsible for almost 30 Megawatts of solar through 2017.
