"Are You Ready?" a live forum about Vermont Health Connect
Are You Ready? Vermont Health Connect, Vermont's Health Insurance Exchange, opens October 1, 2013. Vermonters will have a new way to enroll in health coverage as required by the Affordable Care Act. Ask your questions at a live forum on Thursday, October 3 from 6:30 to 7:30 PM at the Channel 17 Studio. Vermont Health Connect "navigators" from the Community Health Centers of Burlington, Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, and Vermont Campaign for Health Care Security Education Fund will be on hand to answer your questions.
If you cannot make it in person, please follow along on Channel 17/Town Meeting TV, or stream it live on the web http://www.cctv.org/live_events or on the SevenDays website at http://www.7dvt.com/. The call-in number for the program is 802-862-3966. Channel 17 can be seen in Chittenden County on Comcast and Burlington Telecom. The Channel 17 studio is at 294 North Winooski Avenue, Burlington, VT, on the second floor. ORCA public access TV in central Vermont will also stream this program live.
“As a navigator, I know people have a lot of questions about signing up for insurance through Vermont Health Connect, so this program will give more people a chance to ask questions,” said Donna Sutton Fay of Vermonters for Health Care Security. Navigators are specially trained professionals funded by the State of Vermont to help individuals and small employers learn about Vermont Health Connect and to provide them in-person assistance for enrolling in public and private coverage through Vermont Health Connect.
The event is presented by the League of Women Voters in cooperation with Community Health Centers of Burlington, Planned Parenthood, and Vermont Campaign for Health Care Security Education Fund. Media Sponsorship is provided by Seven Days and Channel 17/Town Meeting TV.
