The Brattleboro Retreat will host its 5th Annual Golf Tournament at the Brattleboro Country Club in Brattleboro, VT on Wednesday, August 4th. All proceeds will help support therapeutic recreational activities for children.

Over the years the Retreat Golf Tournament has earned a reputation for providing a fun day for all. Each player will enjoy a hearty bag lunch, a day of golf, and a scrumptious dinner buffet. Registration begins at 10:30 am; shotgun start at 12 pm; dinner is at 5:30 pm. Awards, raffles, and an auction start during dinner around 6 pm.

Each golfer will have a chance to win a new 2010 Chevrolet Malibu. Auto Mall will award the car to any golfer who gets a hole in one on the 8th hole. Other contests include closest to the pin, longest drive, straightest drive, 50/50 putting contest, and more.

The award, raffle, and auction prizes will include dozens of items including a picnic lunch for four atop the Brattleboro Retreat Tower, Red Sox tickets, restaurant gift certificates, golf gear, and clothing along with a number of other items. All participants will receive a complimentary golf umbrella.

“At the Brattleboro Retreat, we’ve helped people find the strength to make positive life changes since 1834. That’s over 175 years,” explained Robert E. Simpson, Phd, president and chief executive officer. “Our treatment and care isn’t just for adults, we also serve many children and adolescents. Now you can support our work with kids and have a great day of golf.”

Registration is $125 for all golfers. Dinner-only tickets may also be purchased for $35 each, giving non-golfers an opportunity to enjoy dinner and participate in the raffles and auctions and relax on the Brattleboro Country Club deck or dining room. Businesses and individuals still have time to become event sponsors at various levels. Hole sponsorship starts at just $250. Benefits of sponsorship, depending on level, can include logo appearance in ads and program book, banner display, free foursome, and tee signage (designed and drawn by children from the Retreat’s residential programs).
