U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will visit Peoples Academy in Morrisville on Monday morning to talk with students about their aspirations and goals after high school.
Sanders, who serves on the Senate education committee, is seeking candid input from young Vermonters to help inform his work in the Senate.
Sanders said, “It’s important that we understand how students see their options as they prepare to graduate high school. Do they have adequate information to determine the best college for them and how they can finance a higher education? If they’re not going to college, do they know how to secure the best jobs that are out there, and how they can receive the training they might need for those jobs?”
Sanders will be joined by Vermont Agency of Education Secretary Rebecca Holcombe, Vermont Department of Labor Commissioner Lindsay Kurrle and other state and regional education and workforce development leaders.
What: Sanders to discuss post high school goals with Vermont students.
When: 9:30 a.m.; Monday, Dec. 4
Where: Peoples Academy; 202 Copley Avenue; Morrisville
Note: The meeting is not open to the public.
