JOHNSON, VERMONT — The annual Johnson State College Winter Gala Concert, with performances by multiple student choral groups, will be at 4 p.m. Dec. 17 at Dibden Center for the Arts on campus.
Admission is $5 for the public and free with a JSC ID. A poinsettia raffle and silent auction of framed artwork, maple syrup, artisan jewelry and restaurant gift cards will support the Johnson State Chorale’s tour in Estonia, Finland and Latvia in July 2018.
The concert will feature performances by a cappella and other groups, including the Chorale, Johnson State Chamber Singers, Badger Tones, Badger Pitches and Badger Beats. The JSC Holiday Brass will perform at intermission. A variety of songs will be featured, from pieces by Bach and Handel and selections from South Africa and Sweden to a tune by pop band Toto and a barbershop quartet classic.
On July 1, 2018, Johnson State College and Lyndon State College will become Northern Vermont University, a two-campus institution of higher education that combines the best of both colleges’ nationally recognized liberal arts and professional programs under a single administration.
